A DIY Dad
Hobbyist, Tinkerer, Maker, Nerd and Dad
Hi, I'm Joe, but you can call me A DIY Dad.
I’ve always been a “maker.” As a kid, I always preferred hands-on projects and I dabbled in a few different hobbies growing up. My interest in woodworking grew when we bought our house in Norwood, MA about five years ago. There was a great, established space for a woodshop in the basement and that plus a garage suddenly made it easier for me to create. The interest really took off when I learned we were expecting our first child and I got it in my head that I would make him a crib. I loved researching ideas, planning the build, and the sense of pride I got at the finished project.
Since then, I’ve found joy in creating customized home decor, furniture, presents, and toys for my family and our friends and I’m really excited to share those projects with you through A DIY Dad. If you see something you like, I’d be happy to make one (or more!) just for you. If you have an idea for something you don’t see, I’d love to make something new as well.
Thanks for visiting my page! I’m looking forward to working on projects for all of you and, in the process, teaching my little apprentices all about the joys of woodworking.
